The Story
Grace’s relationship with the communities of Meru and Marere sprang from a partnership with Food for the Hungry, a Christian relief and development agency. After sending several short term teams to communities in Peru, Guatemala, and Ethiopia, Grace sent a team from Kairos, the young adult ministry, on their first short term trip to Meru, Kenya in 2004. In 2006, after sending two teams to this community, Grace formed an official partnership with Food for the Hungry to further the relationships in Meru and Marere.

The Vision
As part of the vision to change our world, Grace Community Church has committed to a relationship with the communities of Meru and Marere, Kenya through Food for the Hungry’s Community to Community (C2C) program. This partnership allows transformation in two communities; Grace as we understand God’s heart for His people around the world, and Meru/Marere as spiritual and physical needs are being met. Grace’s involvement in this C2C relationship has consisted of sending two to three teams each year, along with individuals at Grace sponsoring children in these communities. This relationship continues to be strengthened as both communities commit to praying for each other.
